Security-Built Culture:
The Market Perspective
December 14, 2020
In part 1 of this three-part podcast series, TEKsystems leader Mike Mulligan discusses the pandemic’s impact on security, and we discuss the roles and responsibilities in security—approaches organizations should take to build talented security teams.
The pace of change and digital disruption already stretched security teams to their limits. The proliferation of endpoint devices expanded attack surfaces. Increasing regulatory and privacy policy compliance requirements increased risk exposure. The escalating sophistication, volume and velocity of cyberattacks require 24/7 monitoring. Then, a global pandemic and the resulting “work from anywhere” response by organizations exacerbated these pressures almost literally overnight.
There was an epic talent shortage in security before COVID-19, and the pandemic just increased the strain. But bringing remote skills to the market and using technology to access the right security talent can help to alleviate the pressure.
