Produced by AnitaB.org, the Celebration Promotes the Inclusion, Influence and Leadership of Women Technologists
TEKsystems®, a leading provider of IT services, proudly announced today it will be a sponsor at this year’s Grace Hopper Celebration. The Grace Hopper Celebration, presented by AnitaB.org and the Association for Computing Machinery, is the world’s largest and most influential gathering of women technologists.
TEKsystems is sponsoring two “Become a Person of Influence” professional development leadership workshops during the conference on Sept. 26 at 11:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m., hosted by Jo Miller, CEO of Women’s Leadership Coaching Inc. Women from all areas of technology will gather to share best practices, their experiences, and learn how to create more opportunity for women in technology and break into leadership positions.
“We know from our relationships with over 80% of Fortune 500 companies that there is a real desire to close the gender gap for women in technology. Clients are demanding better representation of women throughout their organizations, fueled by the knowledge that a more diverse environment increases success by every metric, but most importantly productivity, revenue and innovation,” says Megan Cohill, director of strategic accounts at TEKsystems. “We partner with organizations to help infuse the pipeline with diverse talent and provide women the chance to transform from within and find career success.”
TEKsystems is dedicated to creating opportunities for women in technology through their Inclusion and Diversity strategic initiatives and employee resource groups. They work with nonprofits across the country to create programs that empower women to establish careers in technology, and actively cultivate relationships with women’s advocacy groups nationwide to connect women with technology employers.
”We’re passionate about creating as much opportunity for women in technology as we can. I’ve personally seen the change it can create for those we’ve empowered to start new careers in technology or advance in the one they have,” says Graci Harkema, inclusion and diversity manager at TEKsystems. “Being a part of this Grace Hopper Celebration, and bringing women together at the leadership development workshops is a perfect example of how TEKsystems approaches our equality efforts. It’s equal parts opportunity, partnership, development and representation, and we are grateful we can facilitate these engagements.”
The Grace Hopper Celebration is being held in Houston, Texas at the George R. Brown Convention Center from Sept. 26–28.
